CAP (WIG CAP)
the base or foundation of a wig onto which hair is attached using several different methods. Caps are made with various materials and come in small, medium, large and custom sizes.

Cap-less wig   a type of wig cap which has vertical lace strips onto which wefts of hair are horizontally sewn. The open spaces between the wefts are the reason this is called a "cap less" wig.

Custom-made wig cap   Any combination of materials used to construct and create a wig per specific instructions from the wearer. An   affordable luxury.

Demi-Cap a   hairpiece designed to cover some of the crown and sides and all of the back of the hair. This type of wig cap is also called a fall or 3/4 cap wig.

European hair High quality human hair which is harvested from donor have never bin colored, premed or processed. A  person of European or Caucasian ancestry. This type hair is used for custom made wigs because of the exceptional strength, quality and beauty, and is also used by manufacturers of high quality stock human hair wigs.

Fall   A partial hairpiece which is attached to the back part of the crown to add length to the wearer's hairstyle. The wearer can use a headband or comb their naturally growing hair into the hair of the fall.

French top a high quality translucent material to which individual hairs are hand tied. The finished product closely resembles a natural scalp with hair growing out from it. The crown of a wig made with a French top is not restricted to parting the hair in one constant area. A French 2" part is only 2 inches wide and allows for a natural part only in that section.

Hand -tied  a wig or hairpiece into which the hair has been knotted by hand.

Integration wig/piece a specially constructed wig with spaces to allow the naturally growing hair to "integrate" with the wig to add fullness. The wig is made with wefts spaced at various distances (customized to the wearer's needs) and the wearer's own hair is pulled through the open wefts and integrated with the wig.

Lace front wig  A hairpiece or toupee which is made with a mesh insert in the front, into which individual hairs are hand-tied. This is designed to create a realistic looking hairline. The lace front usually has extra un-ventilated mesh so that the front can be custom-ventilated or trimmed to resemble an actual hairline. When properly worn with special adhesive, the hairline can be so realistic looking as to be virtually undetectable that it is not the wearer’s own growing hair.

Monofilament/mono, silk cap Fine, translucent silk, nylon or polyester mesh into which individual hairs are hand-knotted to create the illusion of hair growing out of the scalp. When hair loss is extensive, the natural scalp color is revealed through the monofilament top. The wearer is not restricted to a specific part are if the wig has a full monofilament top,  NAPE: The area at the back of the neck, just under the little bone that protrudes at the base of the skull.

What is a Cranial Prostheses

Cranial hair prosthesis is a hair system designed specifically for those suffering from hair loss due to medical conditions. Prostheses contain a combination of fabrics and compounds that are used to re-create natural hair growth patterns and the look of the scalp. All materials in the prosthesis are treated to resist dirt, oils and body acids while providing maximum comfort.

Cranial hair prostheses are different than department store wigs in quality, performance and service. Prostheses are made with specialized material sensitive to the needs of the individual. They come in a variety of styles and colors. The fit is adjustable to each person's size and is also custom cut and styled. A department store wig has a set style what you see is what you get. Often, they don't fit correctly and have a heavy, fuller appearance.

    Q & A

Can I color my lace wig/unit?
Yes, if it is 100% virgin human hair which is not processed in any way. Once virgin hair is treated in any way, it is no longer virgin. Generally it is advised to make any major color changes after having your extensions applied. PLEASE NOTE we do not guarantee
the out come of hair color changes made by you, your clients and or a stylist. No two strands of hair are alike and as such no two wigs are exactly like. Bleaching or dying the wigs will have various color changes.  We recommend that you have your customer purchase the wigs in the color they would like, two tone, streaks etc.

What type of hair care products should I use on my human hair products/lace wigs?

Treat this hair like your own hair. Use good quality shampoo and conditioning products. Conditioning your hair is very important to keep it soft and manageable. Leave in Conditioners are a good idea.  You can also use products like gel and hair spray to keep the curls in place, but make sure to wash your hair and not leave in these products in for long period of time.

What is the difference between Indian and Chinese hair?

Indian and Chinese hair varies in texture and color. Indian straight hair is not bone straight but instead has beautiful body wave and texture. Chinese hair is bone straight.

What is the difference between lace front wigs and full lace wigs?

Lace front wigs are wigs/units that are lace from ear-to-ear. Usually the rest of the cap is made out of a stretch lace or mono filament. Lace front wigs are able to be bonded from ear-to-ear.  Full lace wigs have lace all around the perimeter. Our stock full lace wigs are fine French or Swiss lace around the entire perimeter and stretch lace throughout the middle of the unit. This is what allows the unit to fit various head sizes. Full lace wigs can also be all lace, mono top, silk top etc. Custom full lace wigs can be made out of all fine Swiss/French/optimum lace throughout the cap. This is made for full head and perimeter bonding.

What is the difference between French lace and Swiss lace?

French lace is the most durable of the two, it is best for new lace front wig and full lace wig wearers, but not as undetectable as the other laces. Swiss  lace is the most undetectable of the two, but the most fragile. This is best for experienced lace front wig and full lace wig wearers. Most errors occur when removing the unit. If you have patience and remove the unit properly you will have no problem with the Swiss lace as a first time lace wig wearer.

What is Optimum Lace?  These wigs do cost more that the others.

Optimum lace is the most undetectable lace in the hair replacement industry.  It blends right into the skin giving you a flawless and undetectable hairline and parting. It is soft to

The touch, and invisible to the eye. It is a step above Swiss lace. If you are looking for a high quality, long lasting unit, that is undetectable, Optimum Ultra Sheer Full Lace Wigs are what you are looking for.

What is a Thin Skin Wig?  These wigs do cost more that the others.

Thin skin is a polyurethane material, used to replicate the skin and scalp. It is a great prosthesis for those with hair and without. The only downfall to thin skin is that it is not as breathable as lace. To eliminate this issue we have designed our thin skin caps to have fine monofilament at the crown, this will allow heat to escape and air to ventilate throughout the wig.

Can I Swim in my Lace Front Wigs and Full Lace Wigs?

YES, the lace wig is just like your regular hair so you can do all normal activities with it on such as swimming, showering, sweating, etc. The only time you should not get it wet is the first 24 hours after applying the unit. You must also use a waterproof adhesive.

 What is Remy cuticle hair?

Real Remy cuticle hair is the highest-grade human hair available and comes form one individual. The hair is sectioned and allowed to fall into its natural growing pattern. The hair is then cut and carefully sewn to maintain the natural cuticle direction so matting and tangling are virtually eliminated.
